K1 Visa Timeline

On this page you'll find a full timeline of our K1 (fiance) visa application which took 235 days from applying to arriving in the U.S. Until this visa was issued, Mark couldn't legally stay in the U.S. for more than 90 days at a time. When he entered the states using it, we had 90 days to get married and then apply for his "Adjustment of Status". AOS and EAD applications were submitted on May 24th. The EAD should have been approved or denied in 90 days but Marks took about 150. Without the help of Mary Ballard at Governor Shimkus's office, we would probably still be waiting !! It's been a long and complicated process but well worth it in the end!!!

June 21, 2004: Sent I-129F off to the Nebraska Service Center via Priority Mail

June 23, 2004: Day 1 - NOA1 received from Nebraska

November 05, 2004: Day 100 - STILL NOTHING !!

Dec 13, 2004: Day 145 - We finally receive email confirmation that our petition has been approved.... YAY !!

Jan 06, 2005: Day 169 - Receive notification from National Visa Centre that our approved petition is being sent to the Embassy in London

Jan 15, 2005: Day 178 - Receive Packet 3 from embassy in London.

Jan 18, 2005: Day 181 - Completed Packet 3 received by Embassy

Jan 31, 2005: Day 197 - Receive email confirmation of my interview date (Feb 24th)

Feb 04, 2005: Day 201 - Receive Packet 4 from Embassy.

Feb 24, 2005: Day 221 - Successful interview at London Embassy.

Mar 11, 2005: Day 235 - Mark leaves the UK to start his new life with Debs and Bekah !!

March 28, 2005: Day 257 - Mark applied for Social Security Card

April 8, 2005: Day 268 - Mark received SS card in the mail!

April 29, 2005: Day 284 - Mark and Debs finally get married!!! 6:30 p.m. Larimore Plantation House, St. Louis

May 24, 2005: Day 309 - Mark sends off AOS and EAD applications

June 18, 2005: Day 334- NOA's received for AOS and EAD

July 21, 2005: Day 367 - RFE recieved, requested a vaccination supplement

July 26, 2005: Day 372 - Biometrics completed in St. Louis

July 28, 2005: Day 374 - Vaccination supplement mailed off

August 3, 2005: Day 380 - RFE received and AOS processing has resumed

September 8th, 2005: Day 416 - Arranged Infopass appointment for Sep 16th at St. Louis District Office to request Interim EAD.

September 16th, 2005: Day 424 - Infopass appointment unsucessful. 90 day count starts from Biometrics, not NOA. Come back Oct 24th if you've not heard anything !!
